This year’s most anticipated gadget Apple iPad is now available for people to try out. Apple iPad is a 9.7-inch Tablet with capacitive IPS technology based display panel, first of its kind. The new Apple iPad runs iPhone OS 3.2 operating system. The Apple iPad is 0.5 inches think and weighs just less than a kilo, making it a very user-friendly gadget. This tablet features 12 multi-touch designed specifically for it by Apple. There is a 1024×768 pixel resolution support for the 9.7 inch touchscreen. Apple other than iPhone OS 3.2 has debuted iBookstore that will include books by independent and major publishers. But the disappointing factor is that iBook store will be accessible for U.S. nationals only at the launch of iPad. There is a separate app for this to be possible. Also, the iPad has a VoiceOver screen reader. As usual, users can browse through the iTunes store to buy music, movies, tv shows and lots more.

Battery Life

Apple promises battery life of up to 10 hours for iPad and a standby time of 24 days. A rechargeable 25Whr lithium-polymer battery is packed in the iPad’s body making us believe those rumors.

Connectivity

Apple iPad is capable of playing and streaming 720p HD video. This iPad is also connectable to a Projector with small USB data cable with 30-pin connection support. Another major feature in Apple iPad is WiFi only and WiFi+3G features. In addition, iPad will also support Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR technology.

The iPad features full size ’soft’ or on-screen keyboard with ambient light sensor and also connects to the newly released iPad Keyboard Dock accessory with normal keyboard. Gaming fans would be welcoming the iPad feature of accelerometer useful in many ways.

iPad features standard 30-pin connector which can be used to connect it to a Mac or PC for data transfer as well as charging. With Built-in mic, speakers and 3.5mm audio jack to hook in any pair of headphones , Music fans would love this gadget a lot, if they don’t mind carrying it, though it is small.

It is obvious that Apple iPad would drive new students to play games and read e-books, the way they have never done before. Apple has quietly made a mark in future computing with the launch of iPad.
